Leuchtstoff
a modular textile lampshade
to see at Dutch Design Week 2025

Leuchtstoff is a modular textile lampshade that brings together colour, warmth, and flexibility in a playful, tactile lighting object.

Drawing inspiration from stained glass windows and the soft heat of traditional tiled stoves, Leuchtstoff explores how small, soft elements can build into something spatial.

Buttonholes sewn into the fabric allow for intuitive, tool-free assembly. Whether paired with an LED tube or a simple bulb, Leuchtstoff creates a warm atmosphere in (overlooked) corners of your home. It hangs from the ceiling and connects to any  socket nearby. Flat-packed in an envelope and expanding into a 1.25-meter textile light column, Leuchtstoff offers a practical and playful approach to space-efficient design.

Leuchtstoff was developed as part of the standart shipping collective, with the challenge of creating a piece that - surprisingly - fits through a letterbox.
